About Me
Welcome to my website. I’m Alec Robinson, a professional and award-winning pianist and music educator. I am a Piano Teacher in Wetherby in the North of England and perform live music in Yorkshire and across the UK. With 20 years’ experience as a full-time musician, I’ve gained a strong reputation as a reliable and accomplished pianist, band leader, and music tutor, specialising in the styles of rhythm & blues, jazz, soul music, and swing.
I work with some of the best professional musicians in the region to create bespoke live music packages designed with you and your event in mind.
Everything from solo piano up to swing and sophisticated jazz and soul bands can be arranged to suit the occasion. I cater for weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries, and have provided entertainment for some of the country’s most prestigious venues and biggest brands. These include Marks & Spencer, Boots, The NSPCC, HRH Chatsworth House Flower Show and Harvey Nichols. I also hold the position of resident pianist at the beautiful countryside hotel of Middlethorpe Hall, York.
Some of my career highlights include being promoted by Jamie Cullum as part of the jazz listings on his BBC Radio 2 show, and appearing in Yorkshire Life Magazine. More recently, I was honoured to have my business named as a Yorkshire Prestige Award winner for 2023-24.
